In life, there are lessons that our parents teach us, lessons that our friends teach us, and then there are some lessons that we don't learn until we go through that experience ourselves. Where's that quote from?
Have you had a specific lesson that you had to learn for yourself - not through the experience of others?
The quote is from your post!! I loved it lol. Hmmm i would say the art of not giving a fuck. I come from a place, a bubble, where you care so much what “the jones” are up to. Keeping up with your neighbors. And little by little with different experiences and moments, i have began to let that go. I am learning to live my life for me! Not to meet the expectations of others.
🤦🏽♂️ This is exactly why i journal - i have a memory of an goldfish at times! OMG YES! The keeping up with the jones was something i remember so vividly from back in high school and through out University - Got to wear that black Dolce & Gabbana Track suite with those white Lacoste shoes. Its so liberating to not have to give a flying pancake of fitting in- Great example!
“the way a lesson has to be felt before it can be understood” all too many times this has been true in my life. Even as an adult I must admit!
Beautiful piece!
Thanks Katherine!
